Took this photograph on the plaza in Kansas City. Strangely enough there was nothing in front of the camera, the temperature was consistent and the digital camera is in peak working order.

Can anyone tell me what this anomaly might be?

I concur. It's a reflection if not from the lens, something else as equally shiny.
